Why I Created Provincial AI

A declaration of intent, without hype

Why I Created Provincial AI

Editorial note This article was the first I published on AI di Provincia, in April 2026. It remained as it is, because it tells where I started. In the meantime, I realized something that I don't say clearly here yet: I didn't stay in the province by choice, and this blog is not a celebration of the periphery. It is the way I turn a limitation into raw material. The Manifesto says it without filters.

I was chatting with an AI. Not for work, not for a precise project — I was looking for a way to earn something by exploiting AI, like many do. And as I wrote and read, I realized a strange thing: I had been using these tools for years, almost every day, since I was a teenager. Almost a quarter of my life with AI always beside me. And yet I didn’t talk about it with anyone. There was no place to do so, at least not for someone like me.

The problem is not that we don’t talk about AI. The problem is how we talk about it and to whom. In Italy, if you are not passionate, if you don’t work with it, if you don’t have time to follow every update, you are out. And when you finally hear something on the news, it is almost always a story of fear — robots stealing jobs, algorithms controlling everything. What is missing is the voice of those who actually use it, every day, without being a Silicon Valley expert. What is missing is the perspective of those who live in a small town and still try to understand where the world is going.

Here you will find no gurus. You will find no miraculous prompts or strategies to get rich in thirty days. You will find AI seen from the province — the real one, the village one, the one that doesn’t make news but exists. Articles written to understand, not to impress. A space for those who missed something along the way, because AI runs fast and nobody waited for us. This project was born for me, honestly — because writing is good for me, reasoning out loud is good for me. But if you live in a reality similar to mine, I think you will find something that belongs to you.

I don’t know where this journey will lead. But I know where it starts: from an open chat on the computer, from an unanswered question, and from the desire to tell someone about it.

Want to talk about it?

If this article touched you or you have something to say, write to me. I don't run newsletters or broadcast channels — I prefer real conversations.

This project is only at the beginning. If you want to be part of this slow reflection, subscribe to the newsletter. No revolution, just small steps.
